Parks and downtown

The City of Inman maintains three parks: Leroy Mathis Park, with a playground, fitness equipment and a walking trail, near downtown; Sealy Park, a small neighborhood park; and Inman Mills Park, a ball field and playground owned by Inman Mills. A pavilion on Mill Street hosts free outdoor music in spring and summer.

Lake Cooley, a reservoir of roughly 330 acres with a park at 100 Cooley Dock Road, has an Inman address. The park has a boat ramp, an accessible dock and kayak launch, a fishing pier, a playground and four picnic shelters that can be rented, plus seasonal kayak and paddleboard rentals and an outdoor education center. Boating permits are required, and hours change through the year, so confirm details with the sources below.

Inman’s Main Street district is the town’s historic center, and each year on the last Saturday in September downtown hosts Harvest Day, a festival with street vendors, food, crafts and stage performances organized by the Greater Inman Area Chamber of Commerce with the City of Inman. A rail trail along the old Saluda Grade is planned to include Inman.
